Improvements & Changes

  • Chat history and much better chat editing
    • Links are now clickable in chat
      • When clicked, a warning screen appears that asks players if they want to continue
    • Players can copy and paste links in chat
    • Mouse wheel can be used to scroll up/down for history
      • PAGEUP and PAGEDOWN keys can also be used
    • Up/down keys for recently sent messages
    • If you start typing a player's name, and press Tab ↹, it'll automatically type the rest of the username for you.
    • Copy & paste in chat
    • Similarly how §k in chat displays random characters, §l, §m, §n and §o creates bold, striked, underlined and italic text respectively, whilst §r resets any set states
      • These cannot be typed using vanilla clients
    • Pressing / acts as a command key: it opens the chat with a “/” in place
    • Pressing or will move the insertion point (text pointer) in the respective direction, allowing you to edit text instead of using ← Backspace to go back
  • Out of Memory Screen
    • Added “Back” and “Quit” buttons[1]
  • Debug Screen
    • Added a “minimal” debug menu
      • The same as the regular F3 menu, except without the graph/profiler
      • Accessible by ⇧ Shift+F3
  • Inventory
    • Re-added armor outlines in the armor slots in the inventory

    • Now have the color of the type of wood used in crafting
    • Comes in all 4 types:

  • New Sandstone block
    • Uses unused sandstone texture; however the texture is changed
    • Same name as the normal sandstone

  • Cats
    • When in standing position, cats will now purposely go and sit on nearby chests, active furnaces, and beds
      • This prevents players from using them

    • Can now be climbed like ladders

Additions

  • Iron Golem
    • Spawns in NPC Villages
    • Defends Villagers against Zombies and other hostile mobs
  • Ocelot
    • Can be tamed as Cats
  • Rare Drops
    • Certain mobs can now rarely drop items
    • Zombies have a rare chance to drop an iron ingot, iron helmet, iron shovel, or iron sword.
    • Skeletons have a rare chance to drop a bow or an enchanted bow.
    • Zombie Pigmen have a rare chance to drop a golden helmet, gold ingot, golden sword, or an enchanted golden sword.
    • Snow Golems have a new path-finding AI and will form a wall to attack mobs.

Improvements & Changes

  • New mob AI
    • Skeletons and zombies will rush to the nearest shadow or body of water for safety if it catches fire in daylight
    • Zombies chase and attack villagers and doors (breaking them on Hard and Hardcore difficulties) Sometimes zombies attacked villagers in preference to the player, and always chose the shortest way to the target, even if there was a door in the way.
    • Cave spiders swim extremely fast with the water stream towards the player, but seem to be almost not moving against the water stream.
    • Zombie Pigmen swim fast in water.
    • Creepers now stalk the player.
  • Villager
    • Will have children if there is enough empty houses in a NPC Village
  • Wolf
    • Tamed wolves are able to breed using bones
  • Zombie
  • Snow Golem
    • Will melt and die in the Nether
